Week Four Roundup
ACC
We know this about the ACC: There is
one pretty good team in Virginia Tech, a handful of okay teams (Miami, North
Carolina, Georgia Tech, Florida State, NC State, Clemson) and then a group of bad
teams. The ACC is pretty mediocre and nothing will change this year.
South Florida 17, Florida State 7
Georgia Tech 24, North Carolina 7
Boston College 27, Wake Forest 24
Rutgers 34, Maryland 13
North Carolina State 38, Pittsburgh
31
TCU 14, Clemson 10
Virginia Tech 31, Miami 7
Duke 49, North Carolina Central 14
BIG 12
The only team that lost in the Big
12 was Texas Tech, and they lost on the road to a good team and did so by one
point. It was a pretty good weekend for this conference. Even though Kansas and
Tech are the only teams that played good opponents, everyone handled their
business in a matter in which they should.
Missouri 31, Nevada 21
Kansas 35, Southern Miss 28
Kansas State 49, Tennessee Tech 7
Texas 64, UTEP 7
Iowa State 31, Army 10
Nebraska 55, Louisiana-Lafayette 0
Oklahoma State 56, Grambling St. 6
Baylor 68, Northwestern St. 13
Texas A&M 56, UAB 19
Houston 29, Texas Tech 28
BIG EAST
Really good win for South Florida
and another solid win for Cincinnati. The top two teams in this conference are
pretty decent. After that, Rutgers, Pittsburgh and Connecticut are bowl teams,
but not much more after that.
Connecticut 52, Rhode Island 10
South Florida 17, Florida State 7
Cincinnati 28, Fresno State 20
Rutgers 34, Maryland 13
NC State 38, Pittsburgh 31
Syracuse 41, Maine 24
Utah 30, Louisville 14
BIG TEN
Iowa. That's all that matters this
week. This team is very good. Watch out.
Michigan is bound to slip up soon.
They really haven't looked great lately. Wisconsin might be 4-0, but at this
point 7-5 or 8-4 is the best they can do. Purdue frickin blew it. The Gophers
looked solid.
Minnesota 35, Northwestern 24
Michigan 36, Indiana 33
Wisconsin 38, Michigan State 30
Ohio State 30, Illinois 0
Iowa 21, Penn State 10
Notre Dame 24, Purdue 21
PAC-10
We all knew Washington wasn't good.
And oh boy, Cal decided not to take the trip to Eugene. Oregon, Cal and USC are
all looking to beat the hell out of each other this year. Big game this weekend
in Berkeley.
Oregon 42, California 3
Georgia 20, Arizona State 17
Arizona 37, Oregon State 32
Stanford 34, Washington 14
USC 27, Washington State 6
SEC
South Carolina proved that Ole Miss
was overrated, and LSU is just waiting to be beaten and Mississippi State
should have done so. Georgia and Tennessee looked like crap. Alabama is very,
very good. Oh ya, if I have to get another Tim Tebow concussion update I am
going to club a baby seal.
South Carolina 16, Mississippi 10
LSU 30, Mississippi State 26
Alabama 35, Arkansas 7
Florida 41, Kentucky 7
Georgia 20, Arizona State 17
Tennessee 34, Ohio 23
Auburn 54, Ball State 30
Vanderbilt 36, Rice 17
NOTABLE NON-BCS
Houston and Boise State are very
good, and TCU kept it's BCS busting hopes alive. Notre Dame got lucky.
Kansas 35, Southern Miss 28
East Carolina 19, Central Florida 14
Tulsa 56, Sam Houston St. 3
Houston 29, Texas Tech 28
Navy 38, Western Kentucky 22
Notre Dame 24, Purdue 21
Central Michigan 48, Akron 21
Boise State 49, Bowling Green 14
Air Force 26, San Diego State 14
BYU 42, Colorado State 23
Utah 30, Louisville 14
Cincinnati 28, Fresno State 20

I just gotta say that the SEC and Big 12 looked very good. It wasnt great for the Pac 10, right? I just think Cal getting blown out and falling from the national eye hurts. The Beavers losing is not good either because they are supposed to be a better team as far as the conference is concerned. I think Big East looked good because of CIncy and South Florida.
SEC looked very good?...and Bea Arthur looks very good for her age.
Then again, wins are wins. I guess:
Georgia 20, Arizona State 17
Tennessee 34, Ohio 23
Auburn 54, Ball State 30
Vanderbilt 36, Rice 17
The joke is that Gameday will be in Gainesville this week to make sure Tebow is fine during the bye week.
I really think it was all about the Big 12 this week. Texas Tech nearly made it an unbelievable weekend. Despite Taylor Potts, the team is still decent. Two close losses on the road to two good teams.
I'm sticking with the Pac-10 as the second best conference for now, however.
I don't wish death on anyone other than Al Davis, but I hope Tim Tebow has a headache for the rest of his life, and then finds himself wondering why his God is doing this to him.
